For several years, Kelly Cantwell worked as a human resources director at a nonprofit in Chicago. Her hours were long and stressful, and it prompted her to seek an unconventional release: roller derby. Now, the mom of two dominates the rink as “Momster Mash,” and skates as a founder and lead instructor of the new KCRW wRECk League, a lighter-contact version of roller derby focused on fitness. With her Subaru packed with kids and skates, Cantwell’s living a whole new kind of suburban dream.
This Great Big Story is a paid contribution by Subaru.
