This is Lilly, an African penguin. She’s a jackass. No, really. African Penguins are commonly known as “jackass penguins” because of the donkey-like sounds they make. African penguins feed mostly on fish and squid. Due to competition from commercial fishing, they have to swim further out to find enough to eat. That, plus encroaching human development and oil spills are taking a toll on this penguin population.
