One billion people in the world lack basic access to healthcare. Dr. Raj Panjabi has dedicated his work to bringing medical attention to the blind spots of the global health system. Through his organization, Last Mile Health, he targets underserved communities in hopes of preventing, detecting and responding to outbreaks at their source. Now, the 2017 TED Prize winner is taking an audacious approach to tackling global health by training community health workers to help treat and protect their neighbors, building a global health network and revolutionizing the way we approach medicine.
The Torchbearers series was made in collaboration with TED.
