Everyone’s heard of kite surfing but what about kite skiing? Combining skiing and snowboarding with kites, snowkiting—a relatively unknown sport—is the fastest growing snow sport in the world. For Tom Fredericks, it is also his biggest passion. Moving to Alaska twelve years ago, Fredericks has become a leading advocate for the sport. Every year, his company hosts a snowkiting festival to attract some of the best athletes to Thompson Pass.
